– $200 Million Gift Prompts a Debate Over Antiquities: Some argue that by accepting a $200 million gift from the art collector Shelby White, New York University is tacitly approving her practice of buying antiquities from looted archeological sites.

– Puebloan artifacts have home: Springtime brings its ragged clouds, rain and wind to the Southwest. Treasures can be found that other people have thrown out in midden piles, or left behind along back roads and alleyways, and at garage and yard sales that people hold after doing their spring cleaning. The Cortez Cultural Center and volunteer Dale Davidson, a retired U.S. Bureau of Land Management archaeologist, are accepting local collections and artifacts found in the area.
