Join us for a special Hands-On Archaeology event at the Romero Trail in Catalina State Park on January 26! Archaeology Southwest’s Hands-On Archaeology program will connect you with daily life in ancient communities of the Sonoran Desert.
Preservation Archaeologist and ancient technologies expert Allen Denoyer will demonstrate how people in the past made and used stone tools. You’ll learn more about the skills that enabled people to survive and thrive in this region.
Together, we’ll consider answers to some big-picture questions: How did people create some of these tools, and what did they use them for? Which ones did ancient hunters use to bring down game, and how did they do that? We’ll also talk a bit about how people built dwellings here in the distant past.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience history come to life!
