Archaeology Southwest board members Janine Hernbrode and Peter Boyle will share their work documenting the Sutherland Wash Rock Art District north of Tucson. A rich set of data recently created by a team of volunteers from Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society (AAHS) and the Arizona Site Stewards includes a detailed recording of 3,251 prehistoric petroglyphs, a variety of surface features, artifacts, trails, solar markers and the results of a rudimentary acoustic experiment. Learn more here.
The presentation is part of AAHS’s monthly lecture series. It is free and open to the public.
