Amy Gillaspie is an Anthropological Archaeologist and Museum Professional with field experience in Colorado, North Dakota, Peru, Belize, and France. Amy joined the Archaeology Southwest team in September 2024 as the BIA NAGPRA Assistance Program Coordinator. The past 7 years, she worked at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and assisted with NAGPRA consultations as a collection’s assistant, archaeological research assistant, and project archaeologist. As the BIA NAGPRA Assistance Program Coordinator, Amy will assist the Bureau of Indian Affairs in working with Tribes on NAGPRA compliance and repatriation of Ancestors, belongings, funerary objects, sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony.
