Bill Lipe is Professor Emeritus at Washington State University and a Trustee of the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center in Cortez, Colorado. He has done archaeological research in the Four Corners region of the Southwest since the late 1950s. From 1995 to 1997, he was President of the Society for American Archaeology, and in 2010, he received the Alfred Vincent Kidder Award from the American Anthropological Association, for achievement in American archaeology. Recent publications include a chapter in the bookLeaving Mesa Verde (edited by Tim Kohler et al.; U. of Arizona Press, 2010) and junior editorship (with Lynne Sebastian) of Archaeology and Cultural Resource Management (School for Advanced Research Press, 2009).
